Dan: Benefits of ExercisePosted: January 19, 2010
One of the many benefits of regular exercise is a decrease in resting blood pressure. This is especially important when other cardiac risk factors such as obesity or overweight are present. Campers at Camp Endeavor have their blood pressure checked as part of an evaluation on the first full day of camp and then again as part of another evaluation at the end of camp. In many cases blood pressure has decreased from one evaluation to another. While eating whole foods, fresh fruits and vegetables, learning stress management techniques and movement through sports, recreational and fitness activites campers realize weight loss, and improve a variety of health related markers.
